Media personality Masechaba Ndlovu has been appointed as the new spokesperson for the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, Minister Nathi Mthethwa has confirmed.
In a tweet, the minister announced the news and described the former Metro FM presenter as a "Pan-African brand and dynamic trailblazer".
"I am pleased to welcome @MasechabaNdlovu to the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture as my newly appointed Spokesperson. As a Department, we know that you will play an integral part in executing our motto of ‘laying the foundation for greatness," he said.
Masechaba sees her appointment as an honour and promised to hit the ground running.
"It is an honour and a privilege. I am ready to serve indeed," she replied to the minister.
Masechaba will be taking over the reins from award-winning journalist and producer Asanda Magaqa. Asanda held the position from April 2018 and her reason for leaving has not been revealed.
Masechaba is a seasoned TV presenter, with a background in news and current affairs. She has been the host of many TV and radio shows covering lifestyle, talk and entertainment.
