Minnie Dlamini mourns her brother during lockdown: 'Having work to distract me was the biggest blessing'

It's been six months since Minnie Dlamini Jones' brother, Khosini Dlamini, died from a ruptured brain aneurysm – and the TV personality is still learning to come to terms with his death.

In a heartbreaking tweet on Monday, Minnie revealed that she had been using work to distract herself from mourning Khosini and that the lockdown has forced her to.
"Having work to distract me was the biggest blessing but you can't run away from your problems forever. This Lockdown has given me too much time to think especially about losing my brother...and I'm not coping. The pain is unbearable! I don't know what to do, kubuhlungu, (sic)" she tweeted.

This is not the first time Minnie has expressed how hard it's been to accept her brother's death. In October, the Homeground presenter revealed that she was unable to focus on the positive after his death.
"I'm trying to focus on the positive but I won't lie I'm struggling," she said on Twitter.
Speaking to Huffpost, professional psychologist and motivational writer Michelle Roya Rad said learning to cope is essential to be able to bounce back from the loss of a loved one. Here are 5 steps one could follow to deal with grief.
1. Acknowledge and accept the feelings. According to Roya Rad, avoiding, suppressing or repressing these feelings will only make them feel more uncomfortable in the future if not processed at the right time.
2. Be proactive in filling up the void within. When ready and within a reasonable time frame that you set for yourself, you must find ways to fill this gap with something positive that makes you feel good.
3. Learn to grow from the loss.
4. Replace the negative feelings with positive ones.
5. Start evaluating your faith. Having a value system that brings about a sense of reassurance and trust in life and in something bigger than oneself can help one bounce back from a sad situation. This could be done through meditation, prayer, relaxation, quiet time or self-reflection.
