Minnie Dlamini reflects on her career journey

Cape Town - Tuesday marks six years to the day that Minnie Dlamini won a local talent search that kicked off her career in the entertainment industry.

Minnie entered a talent search looking for new presenters for LIVE in April 2010 and landed the gig a couple of months later.

"7 June... 6 years I ago today I got the call that changed my life. You have won the Live presenter search," she wrote on Instagram.

"Tears rolled down my face and I was short of breath. I think I even said 'I can't breathe.' My journey began with such excitement, learning new things and figuring out who I was and wanted to become."

Woah, who would have thought that the girl from Durban would go on to host shows like Glambition, Mzansi Insider, even the Samas and star in popular series The Wild and Rockville.

"Some said I wouldn't last 6months (secretly I knew better). 6 very dramatic (good and bad) years later, I'm hopping on a flight to shoot a new show I will be on next year. I love what I do so much!"

Just last week, Minnie reached 1 million followers on Instagram, making her the most followed local celeb in the country!

She went on the thank everyone who voted for her all those years ago, and promised to keep making us proud. "There's so much to come..Onwards and Upwards... Intombi YomZulu, signing out Ngiyabonga"

Well done, Minnie. We're behind you all the way!
