Johannesburg – As tributes continue to pour in for Johnny Clegg, Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green, as well as the 2019 pageant's top 16 contestants, took their time to remember this iconic musician and what his legacy means to them.

Sharing a message with Channel24, Tamaryn wrote: "In death Johnny Clegg has united South Africans once again. Like the debut Juluka album, he was a universal man who bridged worlds and communities. There is an outpouring of grief for this iconic South African who touched the lives of millions."

She added: "We all felt that we knew him (even if we had never met) and we were all moved by his music, both literally and figuratively. He has reminded us again what we all dream for in this country. Hamba Kahle Johnny Clegg as you soar in the African Sky Blue. My condolences to his wife and two sons."

Stars like Patricia Lewis and Kurt Darren have also taken the time to pay tribute to Johnny.

Johnny Clegg died on Tuesday at his home in Johannesburg. The musician's manager Roddy Quinn confirmed to Channel24 that a private burial took place for the star on Wednesday.

A public memorial will be held for the late singer, details of which are yet to be confirmed.
