Miss South Africa involved in minor car accident

Cape Town - Miss South Africa Adè van Heerden sustained minor injuries following a car accident in Randpark Ridge in Johannesburg.  

The Miss South Africa organisation confirmed the incident which took place on Sunday on Twitter.

According to the tweet Adè sustained "minor bumps and bruises" but is doing "well." 

The Daily Sun reported that at the time of the accident Adè was driving the Nissan X Trail she received as part of her prize package when she took over the Miss South Africa crown from Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters

Speaking to The Juice Stephanie Weil from Nine Squared Communication and Events said that they are still awaiting full details of the accident from the South African Police Service and confirmed that no one was seriously harmed during the incident. 

The organisations went on to thank everyone for respecting the beauty queen's privacy while she recovers.

Addition comment from Nine Squared Communication and EventReigning Miss South Africa Dr Ade van Heerden was involved in a car accident with another vehicle in Randpark Ridge in Johannesburg on Sunday (March 11). There were no fatalities or serious injuries. Van Heerden was travelling alone and suffered minor bruises. The incident has been reported to the relevant authorities and the Miss South Africa Organisation is awaiting full details. Van Heerden was driving the Nissan X Trail that she received when she was crowned at the end of last year. We thank everyone for their good wishes and for respecting her privacy while she recovers.
