Mrs SA Matapa Maila Rikhotso takes second place at Mrs World competition

Johannesburg – Mrs SA, Matapa Maila Rikhotso, made the country proud, taking the title of first princess at the Mrs World pageant held in Vegas on Saturday. 

The beauty queen competed against 34 other hopefuls from across the globe on the night.

Mrs Vietnam, Jennifer Le, was crowned Mrs World 2019, while Mrs Malaysia, Kokilam Kathirvailu, took the title of second princess. 

Sharing a post on social media, Matapa thanked fans for their support. 

"From the bottom of my heart thanks to each and everyone of you, for partaking in this journey side by side with me. I couldn't have asked for a better country to represent because of the warmth and the love you continuously give me [sic]," she wrote. 

Taking the time to congratulate the new Mrs World, she added: "To the new @mrsworldpageant @mrsvietnamworld may your journey with filled with joy, happiness and life changing experiences. As I turn the next pages of my chapter, this is what I want all of you to remember, in room full of capable, outstanding beings, always remember that you are also one of them [sic]."
