Cape Town - From shopping and eating to dancing, one thing’s for sure: Nomzamo Mbatha has been having a blast in New York City.
We catch up with the actress to ask how things are going, and what she misses most about Mzansi.
What is your favourite thing about being in NYC?
My favourite thing about New York is the food, the culture and the shopping!
Tell us about the work you're doing?
As Puma South Africa’s ambassador, I am currently in New York for an exclusive VIP experience for the launch of their En Pointe collection. A beautiful collection inspired by New York City Ballet and while in New York I had the opportunity to meet the PUMA ballerinas and attend the ballet.
Several fun-filled days of backstage access at the ballet, a private lunch in Travelers Patron Lounge (at the David H Koch theatre, home of the NYCB), and a choreographed ballet by NYC Ballet principal and choreographer, Lauren Lovett. Truly, these past few days have been amazing.
Favourite NYC food?
Tao Restaurant on the Upper East Side.
Give us a shopping tip when abroad?
Shop till you drop! Experience every store, find new designers and explore new places. It’s amazing the pieces you find when you allow yourself to shop in unexpected places and new stores.
What do you miss most about SA when away?
New York is so cold, I miss the beautiful sunny South African weather!
What's your next destination abroad?
I don’t know. So many places to travel! I’m excited to see where God places me next.
