Cape Town - SA muso Ntsiki Mazwai expressed her disappointed in Cassper Nyovest’s recent interview with American DJ Sway.
In a recent blog post she writes about how at first she was inspired by Cassper's work ethic: "I was completely blown away at him selling out the Dome".
But then goes on to say: "I have never been so embarrassed to be South African in my life".
According to Mazwai, Cassper "groveled for the Americans".
DJ Sway kicked off the interview by talking about how hip-hop's roots started in Africa. "That whole conversation flew over Cassper's head when in his response he started gushing about America and how we South Africans aspire to be American".
"Essentially, in that whole 45mins Cassper said nothing powerful, nothing to make South Africa look good. The interview left me feeling embarrassed about the youth. Do the youth really wanna be American?"
She ended off by saying: "The next time DJ Sway wants to have a conscious conversation about hip-hop in South Africa, please don't call Cassper."
