Our favourite real-life couples on Dancing With The Stars SA

Cape Town - We can all agree, love is definitely in the air this February on Dancing With The Stars SA

Sunday's episode of the Dancing With The Stars SA delivered a live surprise TV engagement when professional dancer Ryan Hammond - former Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie's dance partner - popped the question to his girlfriend of four years Angelique Alison.

Angelique has been partnered with Bafana Bafana soccer star Delron Buckley on the reality dance competition.

But how has the month of love been treating the celebrities on Dancing With The Stars SA?

While the celebrities are rehearsing seven to eight hours per day they have not been able to see their loved ones that often. But their real-life partners have been showing their someone special amazing support.

Protea netball coach Vanes-Marie du Toit, who recently tied the knot with Springbok rugby co-coach Matthew Proudfoot - who lives in Cape Town - confesses that "the long distance thing has been hard."

The couple have a FaceTime "date" for Valentine's Day and to show his love Matt cooked her a special pre-Valentine's dinner last week. Matthew has flown from Cape Town every Sunday to see how his darling performs on stage.

Another regular face in the audience is Idols SA host ProVerb. Even though the Idols auditions have been taking place around the country, ProVerb has made special arrangements to see Liesl Laurie in action.

When he was at the Bloemfontein auditions, he couldn't get a flight back to Johannesburg in time on the Sunday - during which Liesl opened the show. But that wouldn't stop him!

ProVerb got someone to drive him to Dancing With The Stars SA and literally arrived as the show was starting.

Model and actor Eden Classens, known for his role in Suidooster on kykNET and kie, has moved out Valentine's Day with one day this year. On Thursday his girlfriend - Sarie magazine cover finalist Cato Meaker - will fly from Cape Town to meet up with him in Joburg.

She will also be attending the show on Sunday.

Athetics coach Odessa Swarts' husband has been spending the entire week with her as she was feeling quite lonely being away from her family who resides in Bloemfontein.

But as he has other commitments to attend to on Valentine's Day he arranged for her and her bestie to go and watch Fifty Shades Freed.

From this week onwards, the South African public will also be able to share their love with all 12 dancing pairs on Dancing With The Stars. Voting starts this week.

All 12 the couples will perform live between 17:00 and 19:00 on Sunday, 18 February. Then after Carte Blanche at 20:00 viewers will find out who'll be the first pair going home.

To vote, you have to register before 16:30 on Sunday evening. It's a once-off registration for the entire season. Go to mnet.tv/dwtssa for more.
