Cape Town - Radio 2000 announced on Friday that entertainer Phat Joe would be joining the station as the new breakfast show host.

Phat Joe, who has been in the past fired from various stations such as Metro FM and East Coast Radio, made his debut on the station on Monday morning and was hit with listeners.

He replaced Justice "Just Ice" Ramohlola – who was then moved to an evening slot on the station.

This decision by the station was reportedly met with more controversy as the SABC spokesperson Vuyo Mthembu told Sunday World that the station manager was suspended after rumours that she was opposed to Phat Joe taking over the Breakfast show.

"The SABC can confirm that Ms Thulo has been suspended as station manager for Radio 2000. However, the SABC is not in a position to discuss the details of the suspension as this is a matter between the employer and employee," he said.

Listeners of the show however were more than happy about the reshuffle as Phat Joe hosted his first show on Monday.

These were some of their reactions:
