Cape Town – Local singer and former Voice SA coach, Bobby van Jaarsveld, has posted a series of photos and a health update following a stay at the Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre in Parktown, Johannesburg.
The father-of-three said in an extended post in Afrikaans that he underwent both a vocal cord surgery as well as a hernia operation.
This is not Bobby's first vocal cord surgery. He also underwent surgery in 2016 and 2017 according to The Juice.
Ahead of this hospital stay, Bobby found himself on the Springbok's victory tour of South Africa.
In his post Bobby said: "We usually only share the good stuff. But not today. This is how my last two days in ICU have been. Crap, yes. Through all the pipes, catheter, plasters and pain (and to be woken up multiple times at night to have blood drawn and at 04:00 for tea – when I'm not allowed to have tea and can only lick ice – who has tea at 04:00?) I'm thankful that everything went well. I'm not allowed to talk or make a sound for the next 5 days, so I'm just reading. Hernia is fixed and now it's just the healing process. Thank you for all the prayers. #GoodIsHere #Hernia #Nissen #VocalChordSurgery"
