PIC: Pearl Thusi covers Sawubona and remembers her very first flight

Cape Town - Local actress and TV personality Pearl Thusi covers SAA's in-flight magazine Sawubona and remembers the very first time she flew in an airplane.

Sharing the beautiful black and white cover of the October issue on Instagram, Pearl writes: "At home in KZN, there should still be a copy of the very first Sawubona magazine I ever laid my eyes on."

Thinking back to the excitement she felt during her first flight, she says: "SAA was the first airline I ever flew with. It was 2003, just turned 15 and I was a Miss SA Teen finalist. And I was going to be on a plane for the first time ever. I grabbed anything I could to remember the occasion. My dad drove me, were hours early."

But the internationally recognised actress admits that "things have changed," writing: "Now they all wave at me as I sprint to the gates. Today I am a platinum member of South African Airways and on the cover of Sawubona."
