Cape Town - It’s no secret Cassper Nyovest does whatever he puts his mind to. From dropping out of school and chasing his passion, to filling up national stadiums – and now the rapper has ticked off another goal on his list: completing a marathon.
Last week the Baby Girl hitmaker took to Twitter to announce that he would be collaborating with Nike to participate in the Berlin Half Marathon that took place on Sunday.
Cassper ran the 21 km race in just under two-and-a-half hours – quite impressive for a beginner.
In an Instagram post he said he was proud of himself although the run was painful.
“It was painful but the ambiance was amazing!!! I am proud of myself right now!!! I was really going for a sub 3 so 2h52 would’ve been fine as my first run but I pushed and I surprised myself when in Finished in 2h20 on the Nike App, (sic)” he wrote before thanking #TeamNyovest for supporting him.
During an interview with Slikour the rapper made it clear his intention was to finish the marathon and not actually win it.
“I just want to finish I don’t want to win the thing. I’m running with Caster [Semenya] so I’m just like nahh,” he told Slikour before going to Berlin.
