Cape Town - It was a day for the books! Not only did the Boks stun the world with their convincing World Cup win – South Africa's former cricket captain Graeme Smith also tied the knot.

Their wedding came a year after the former Protea hero announced his engagement to Romy Lanfranchi.

Graeme (38) revealed on Instagram last week that they were getting on married on Saturday, on the same day that the Springboks would face England in the World Cup final in Yokahama, Japan – and end up victorious 32–12.

Early on Saturday already Graeme made it clear that the Boks formed part of the couple's excitement on their magic big day.

Snaps of the wedding celebration were shared on John the Wedding Guy's Facebook page, showing the newlyweds looking radiant.

Romy, who's a lawyer, celebrated her hen party about a week ago. With the photos of the occasion she shared on Instagram, Graeme's bride expressed heartfelt thanks to the women in her life and to everyone who'd contributed to the occasion.

Romy told YOU in 2016  that she was bowled over when she met Graeme for the first time, especially because he's so down to earth. "He's a steadfast person. We have the same values and interests," she said at the time.

The couple have been together since 2016 and have a two-year-old son. Both also have two children from previous marriages. Romy has two young sons with her late husband, Michel Lanfranchi.

Graeme's ex-wife, Irish singer Morgan Deane, is the mother of his other children, Cadence (7) and Carter (6). He and Morgan got divorced officially in March 2017 after being married for six years.
