PICS: Local artist breaks Guinness World Record for largest artwork made from coffee grounds

Johannesburg – Local artist Percy Maimela has broken the Guinness World Record for the largest artwork made from coffee grounds.

Percy, who has become famous for his salt art, teamed up with company Sound Idea Sessions to take on the challenge on Thursday.

For his mosaic, Percy created a picture of popular South African DJ Black Coffee using nothing but coffee.

The artist completed his picture on a 5x5 meter canvas, and according to the Sound Idea Sessions page, the sheet had to be "100% covered in ground coffee with zero negative space in order to qualify for the Guinness World Record title."
