PICS: Maps Maponyane does Japan

Johannesburg – Local star Maps Maponyane has taken on Japan. The TV personality shared some snaps from his trip to Toyko on his Instagram account, and besides taking in the awesome scenery, he also ran into some fans from SA who were super stoked to see him.

“Needless to say I was a bit taken aback by how small the world is. We took a few photos, of which the oddity of it all made me want one a whole lot more,” he wrote.

One of the most random and dopest moments so far in Japan was walking through Asakusa at night amongst hundreds of thousands of people, and having two people, black people I might add (rare sightings in Japan), come up to me and say: "Hey! Maps! How are you? My friend is a fan and has been wanting to meet you. We're from South Africa.??" Needless to say I was a bit taken aback by how small the world is. We took a few photos, of which the oddity of it all made me want one a whole lot more... @lolo.x.n and @thuliduli are both warm beautiful souls and they're in Tokyo teaching English at schools, and of course learning Japanese.
