PICS: SA stars hit the red carpet at the 2018 Laureus Awards

Johannesburg – Some of our local stars took over the red carpet at the 2018 Laureus Sports Awards held in Monaco on Tuesday.

SA favourites, including Jeannie D, Maps Maponyane and Elana Afrika, looked stunning as they walked the carpet at the prestigious event.

Taking to the stage as the host for the night was Hollywood A-lister Benedict Cumberbatch, while renowned songstress Emeli Sandé performed at the show.

“Oh what a night,” Dion Chang recalled on social media, adding: “Glitz and glamour (& rubbing shoulders with sport greats) aside, the Laureus Sports Awards is a surprisingly emotional evening. The “Sport for Good” mantra (pioneered by our very own Nelson Mandela) is a powerful undercurrent that flows through the evening.”
