Singer Nonhlanhla “Queen Skolopad” Qwabe made headlines earlier this year after she showed up at the 2017 Metro FM Music Awards in a rather revealing dress.
Now the lady-in-a-yellow-dress has been nominated for a Feather Award alongside “gqom queen” Babes Wodumo and entertainer Zodwa Wabantu as drama queen of the year.
Skolopad told DRUM she’s very happy with the nomination and that it “feels amazing” being nominated alongside Babes and Zodwa.
"Every time I go to the event without being invited but this time it’s a different story. I was very happy when I got the invitation and I can’t describe what I am feeling right now.”
Her friends and family share her joy. “People that are close to me are so excited about my invitation because I’m finally getting the recognition I wanted and I’m also the first one to be nominated for such a big occasion in the Free State,” the 34-year-old added.
And she’s hopeful DRUM sticks to her on the night of the ceremony as she might wear one of her statement dresses. “I hope Drum will take my pictures because drama will be created.
I want you to see me the way people have always known me. Maybe I will be wearing one of the revealing dresses just like before!”
