Johannesburg – If you’re looking for a bit of motivation to reach for your dreams, make sure you head over to Mark Pilgrims Twitter page.
The radio DJ, who has over two decades of experience in the field, shared some of the rejection letters he received while trying to break into the industry.
One of the letters, sent to him by 702, reads: “We have listened to your tape but unfortunately you still need a great deal of practice. The main problem is your diction, particularly with the pronunciation of the letter ‘R’.”
Well, the radio legend did not give up, and went on to create a name for himself on stations like 5FM and 947, as well as TV channels like M-Net and e.tv.
“If you need a little motivation to keep chasing your dream… just some of my rejection letters received over an 8 year period before spending 25 years on 5FM, 947, KFM, Hot919, Mnet, SABC2 and eTV, (sic)” he captioned the tweet.
