Rockville season 4 is coming!

Cape Town - We know that you've been yearning for the return of the renowned high stakes drama, Rockville. And the wait is finally over.

Season 4 promises higher drama, more action, and twisted plots from Sunday, 10 July.

The famous series, which contrasts the worlds of northern Joburg, with the streets of Soweto, sees popular stars such as Shona Ferguson play JB, Connie Ferguson as Mavis, Gail Mabalane as Vicky, and Boitumelo Thulo as Mpho return for another season alongside other senior cast members.

Meet the new faces

This season also sees new characters debut with Sello Maake Ka-Ncube appear as the new villain, Rolex, and Themba Ndaba as the crooked police officer, Ngema. Another welcome inclusion is Ayanda Thabethe as the sultry temptress, Aliyah.

This season's twists and turns

M-Net's Head of Drama, Reneilwe Sema commented on what's in store for viewers, "The theme this season is 'journeys to redemption'. Mavis tries to redeem broken family bonds, while JB, who has lost everything, is desperate to reconnect with loved ones in the midst of startling historic revelations."

There will even be blessers

A first for Rockville, this season also tackles a pertinent socio-economic issue which is currently very topical in South Africa - that of teenagers dating older, married men.

"This season is set apart from previous editions, in that we now have two main villains, whose paths eventually cross - making for some intense clashes," Sema added.

Rockville season 4 premieres on Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) on Sunday, 10 July at 20:00.
