Johannesburg – In a video released on her YouTube channel, former Miss South Africa and Miss World Rolene Strauss tackled some assumptions people had about her.

For the video, the beauty queen asked fans on Instagram to send through some assumptions they had about her life, and she would answer them, revealing whether it's true or not.

The 17-minute clip taught us a lot about the Rolene's life, including that she will be launching a book soon.

"I actually finished it (at the) end of April, and the book will be launching in October this year. I'm really excited about that. I've always wanted to write a book," the star said.

She continued: "The book's name is Reflections from the Heart, and (it's) filled with a lot of reflection, personal stories, things that I've learned, and I can't wait to share that with you."

2019-05-13 06:00 Johannesburg - Being a beauty queen may seem like it's all glitz and glamour, but according to former Miss SA and Miss World Rolene Strauss there were a few things she had to give up to fulfil her pageant duties.

Aside from revealing that she will be releasing a book, Rolene also touched on the assumption that she has never struggled financially since winning Miss South Africa and Miss World.

The star says she used the prize money she got from both pageants to pay for her medical studies and for a little while after she had a very tight budget.

"After that, I did go through financial difficulties where I couldn't buy all of the groceries I wanted to buy. There were certain things that I couldn't do because I used all of my money to pay for my studies. I didn't have an income. I was a student after that."
