SA youths think AKA is the coolest

Cape Town - South Africa’s most famous faces were honoured at the Sunday Times Generation Next Awards on Friday afternoon in Sandton.

The award ceremony, now in its 12th year, celebrates the coolest 72 brands across various categories recognised and voted for by the youth.

And the youth has made it clear who they think is SA’s top celebs.

The winners:

AKA was voted SA’s Coolest Music Star followed closely by Cassper Nyovest in second place and Mi Casa in third place.

The award for Coolest DJ went to Black Coffee with DJ Fresh taking second place and DJ Zinhle in third.

In the category for Coolest Local Female Screen Star Pearl Thusi was crowned winner with Minnie Dlamini taking second place and Boity Thulo in third.

Trevor Noah was voted Coolest Local Male Screen Star with Leon Schuster coming in second and DJ Fresh in third.

MetroFM was voted Coolest Radio Station with 5FM in second place and Ukhozi FM in third.

The big winner of the day was Nike who was crowned as the youth’s overall favourite brand.
