SABC on David Phetoe: Instrumental in paving the way and setting the bar high

Cape Town - The SABC has released an official statement following the death of Generations actor David Phetoe.

The news of Phetoe's death broke on Thursday. He was 85-years-old.

The SABC expressed their condolences to the family and friends of Phetoe. 

"Phetoe has contributed enormously to the entertainment industry thus assisting the SABC in fulfilling its mandate to inform, entertain and educate our audiences.

"As a veteran actor he was instrumental in paving the way and setting the bar high for upcoming actors," said the statement from the SABC.

Phetoe was well-known for his role as Paul Moroka on the SABC soapie Generations.

The celebrated veteran actor also starred in SABC's 'Sgudi 'Snaysi and the famous film Cry, the beloved Country.
