South African-born singer, Belinda Davids, received a standing ovation from the Britain's Got Talent judges when she appeared on an episode that aired in the UK on Saturday.
Now, back in the country, Channel24 spoke to Belinda about her moving rendition of One Moment in Time that had Simon Cowell on his feet, applauding the 43-year-old mother of two, saying: "That was the audition we'd been waiting for all season."
While the coronavirus pandemic has halted production of Britain's Got Talent, Belinda is fortunate to be spending the national lockdown with her sons in South Africa.

"Normally I tour the world for up to 9 months each year, so it's been a blessing in disguise where I get to spend more quality time with my two sons, Blake (22) and Joshua (7). I'm enjoying spending time with the boys," she says. And like most of us, Belinda is experimenting with different recipes in the kitchen too!

The Port Elizabeth native, who has made a name for herself as a tribute artist, tours the world with Showtime Australia's, The Greatest Love of All: A Tribute to Whitney Houston, and says she entered the competition to take her music career to "the next level."

"BGT is a huge platform, with more than 11 million viewers. And also Simon Cowell - he is a powerhouse in the music industry, and I wanted to impress him with my vocal abilities and show him that I have the talent to compete with the best the world has to offer, musically," she says about her decision to enter the talent competition.
Simon, who launched the careers of One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murs, and Fifth Harmony, was the judge that Belinda wanted to impress the most - a goal she achieved, and then some!
Belinda says that she walked on stage with no expectations but only wanted to do her best. She explains: "I didn't want to mess up the audition due to nerves, so I had to breathe and calm myself and remind myself that I have what it takes to compete in the competition."
And although she has pre-show rituals, even that flew out the window when the nerves set in.
Belinda is used to performing in front of thousands of people, but she says that even though she knew the stage is her "territory" it was "a whole different game."
She says: "It wasn't about doing a tribute anymore. It was about how many boys and girls I have to inspire, including my own, to prove that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to - even at 43."
About how she felt being on the big red, yellow and white stage, Belinda says it's all a blur. "I honestly don't remember my emotions, until I watched it on Saturday evening and I just cried. It was such a moment of accomplishment to watch how everyone reacted and supported me. What an unforgettable memory that I will always treasure," she says.
As production has been delayed, the judges are yet to reveal if Belinda will advance to the next phase, but she says that she is keeping fingers crossed: "I pray that I did enough with my performance to go through to the next stage in the competition."
Known for her Whitney Houston covers, Belinda says that if she advances in the competition, she hopes to show more of herself in her song choices. "This is all about Belinda Davids standing in her own light," she says.
