Johannesburg - We have a new singing contest on the cards. Yes, yet another one – this time called I Can Sing.
The pre-launch kicked off with a prayer, which makes one think that the focus will be on gospel music.
The show’s hosts were in attendance, including the talented Bontle Modiselle, who is also quite the dancer.
Her boyfriend, Priddy Ugly, newly signed to Ambitious Records, was with her.
Former Miss SA Liesl Laurie will also be hosting the show, and she looked lovely in a classy white frock.
The judges (Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Don Laka and Jesse Clegg) will not be judging, we were told – they will be developing.
The show’s creator, Innocent Mabuza, said money wasn’t an issue for I Can Sing because he has it covered, and Chaka Chaka reaffirmed this.
"Innocent is rich, guys. If he can afford me, then he is rich," she quipped after blessing the room with an impromptu a cappella performance.
She also told me that she was getting ready to release a new album this year.
