Sho Madjozi named Trace Mobile ambassador | Drum

Cape Town - 2018 just keeps getting better for Sho Madjozi - she's just been named the first ambassador for Trace Mobile.

The 26-year-old's new role was confirmed on Wednesday as the brand launched a mobile network that provides data that never expires.

Taking to Twitter to celebrate the good news, Sho (real name Maya Wegerif) tweeted: "BREAKING: Trace Just launched a Mobile network with data that never expires. And I am the face! Tired of same of old networks dominating the whole time. We doing our own thing now #NeverExpire!!"

As part of her new gig Sho will lead Trace Mobile’s #NeverExpire campaign, which pays homage to people, brands and places that have remained “timeless and fresh” in the hearts and minds of many.

To go with the #NeverExpire concept, the network provider will release a series of videos “with young people who are involved in projects that have either thrust them into the public eye or continue to contribute to the ever changing, celebratory and positive African narrative.”

Sho also shot her own video for the campaign to discuss her partnership with the network.

Speaking on her decision to partner with Trace Mobile, Sho said it was the perfect fit.

“This is so dope! My phone and my music are two of my favourite things and now I get to work with a brand that combines them perfectly. Plus Trace is unapologetically African, like me!”
