Cape Town - Online radio station Touch HD owned by Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe recently announced its new lineup which includes the likes of Rebecca Malope, Ntando Duma, The microwave Boys and many others. In the new line up, Touch HD has excluded the likes of Sammy Sosa and DJ Glen Lewis.

In 2016, Glen Lewis resigned from SABC radio station Metro FM after 22 years of serving diligently and migrated to Touch HD, but it seems things have changed as Glen Lewis’s slot on Touch HD has been taken by new age trio The Microwave Boys with The breakfast wave (7-10 AM).

Tbo Touch posted on Twitter, thanking Glen Lewis for his contribution.

“Salute the Legend Glen Lewis; radios Hall Fame without a doubt,” he wrote.

“Your contribution to the industry is unsurpassed and I’m grateful to be counted amongst those who’ve shared the microphone with you and this is just chapter two of our historical journey.”

Glen responded with a shocking message, “This dude though makes me laugh, singing praises all of a sudden. Coward, hypocrite, shut up already.”

Responding to the tweets is Tbo Touch’s publicist Lulu Mthimkhulu who said people react differently to change and that everything from Touch HD has been amicable.

“I can’t speak as to why Glen is upset but we wouldn’t make changes without careful thought,” she told DRUM.

“As far as I know, there is no beef between Touch HD and Glen.”

Lulu says the station needed to make changes in order to keep up with the times.

“People want to talk; you cannot play a song and come back to announce it. You need to engage, there needs to be a dialogue and the digital platforms are constantly changing.”

Lulu also added that Touch felt the Microwave boys will add a youthful element to the slot.
