Johannesburg – Singer Simphiwe Dana reminded fans on Wednesday that success does not happen overnight.

The singer responded to a Twitter user’s post which read: “Use your 9-5 to fund your dreams”.

Agreeing with statement, Simphiwe took us back to when she first started in the industry, recalling spending her first paycheck on sound equipment.

“Yep! I remember how I bought a sound card and a microphone with my first paycheck. I was broke for the rest of that month living on bread and peanut butter. Your dreams are your own, don’t financially delegate your dreams to others," she wrote.
