Skolopad 'seeking professional help' after taking handful of pills

Cape Town - Local entertainer Skolopad, whose real name is Nonhlanhla Qwabe, is seeking professional help after taking a handful of pills in attempt to "rest and sleep" on Monday.

Speaking to The Juice the 34-year-old singer, who is also a registered nurse, said that she felt "angry" following a heated argument with a colleague.

Following the altercation she took a handful of pills: "I don't know how many pills I took. It was a mixture of anxiety and allergy medication."

When asked if she attempted to take her own life she said: "I don't know. I was just really tired."

She tells The Juice that her flatmate called the ambulance on Tuesday after noticing she wasn't looking well, and spotted the open pills container. She was then taken to hospital.

Skolopad added that she is doing "okay" and will be "seeking professional help".

She has not spoken to her family about what had happened.
