SNAPS: Miss SA launches book club

Johannesburg – Miss South Africa Adè van Heerden launched her very own book club alongside Exclusive Books in Rosebank, Johannesburg on Wednesday.

The beauty queen answered some burning questions about the initiative through a press statement.

According the star the book club will run “every last Wednesday of the month in Exclusive Books stores across the country”, with the next event scheduled to take place on 28 March in Hyde Park, Johannesburg.

“My book club is open to anyone who would like to attend. I would like to create an inclusive environment for any young woman who is looking to better herself and rise to the goals she has set out for herself,” Adè adds.

On why she decided to start the book club, Adè says: “Books have played such an important role in my life and have helped shape me into the woman I am today.”

The kind of books she plans to focus on include “books that have taught me skills that I’ve needed to succeed in life. Books that teach us how to become the best, most whole version of ourselves.”
