Solange Knowles shows support for Pretoria Girls High student

Johannesburg – The news of a protest against racism at Pretoria Girls High School has spread far across the boarders of South Africa, garnering reactions from not only international news agencies, but international celebrities too. 

On Monday students at the school spoke out against their code of conduct which reportedly instructed them to straighten their natural hair. 

Local stars like Bokang Montjane and Samkelo Ndlovu showed support to 13-year-old Zulaikha Patel who was at the forefront of the protest.

 

On Wednesday American singer Solange Knowles, sister to Beyonce, also weighed in on the matter, tweeting, “I think you are super rad #ZulaikhaPatel. Go on w ya baaaad self.”
