Somizi and Mohale cancel Italy wedding due to coronavirus and request guest wear Louis Vuitton face mask to new destination

Celebrity couple Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung have cancelled their upcoming destination wedding due to the coronavirus outbreak.

On Thursday, news broke that there was one case of coronavirus in South Africa.

The Idols SA judge and his husband, Mohale, married less than a year after getting engaged in Paris in May 2018 and sealed their union with a traditional and white wedding ceremony

In February the choreographer revealed that a third ceremony would take place in Florence, Italy in July on Mohale's birthday.

"We have decided to cancel our wedding in Italy due to the coronavirus epidemic," Somizi wrote on Instagram on Friday.

However, he added that they are considering other destinations and that the dress code will incorporate a Louis Vuitton face mask.

"Just like the red bottoms were compulsory at our white wedding so is the Louis Vuitton mask, [sic]" he explained.

The couple's spectacular wedding special on Showmax titled Somizi & Mohale: The Union broke viewing records on the local streaming service after it launched on 24 February.
