Sun International 'committed' to Miss South Africa despite the departure of main sponsor Cell C

Cape Town - Sun International told Channel24 that the hotel resort chain would continue its relationship with the Miss South Africa Organisation, despite the departure of a main sponsor - Cell C.

Speaking to Channel24, GM: Communications and Customer Insights, Zoleka Skweyiya, said: "We have enjoyed a close association with the Miss SA pageant over many years. We remain fully committed to the event."

"Over the past 60 years, the pageant has owed its success to the collective efforts of a number of individuals, groups and organisations, and it will continue to enjoy collaborative support well into the future."

According to Stephanie Weil of Nine Squared Communication, the 2019 Miss South Africa pageant will "go ahead as planned," despite registration delays and the withdrawal of Cell C.

Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green will continue her reign, despite having returned to her medical studies, until she crowns her successor, Stephanie told Channel24.
