Tamaryn Green after Miss Universe success: 'I'm excited to come home'

Johannesburg - After earning her place in the top three at the Miss Universe pageant, Tamaryn Green shared a message with fans on social media thanking them for their continued support.

Tamaryn made South Africa proud when she was named first runner-up at the 67th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand, with the crown going to Catriona Gray from the Philippines.

"This one goes out to everyone who showed me so much love and support throughout the competition. I could not have done it without you. You installed so much confidence in me to go out there and just have fun. Representing my country has been one of the biggest privileges," the beauty queen said in a message to her fans on Tuesday.

But this is not the end of the road for Tamaryn, as the reigning Miss South Africa the star promises to keep doing her part for the country.

"It's not the end, I'm still going to go out there continue empowering women. I'm going to continue with my #BreakTheStigma campaign and encourage people to have the courage to share their stories. I'm excited to go home and see my South African family, but I just want to say thank you very much. It's been such a special time in my life."
