Cape Town - Touch Central, an online digital radio station, is gearing up to announce major changes at the station.

The move is aimed at creating a bigger, better, 'high definition' online listening experience for its audience. The station will reveal details about its upcoming changes and a new look and feel at an event scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 28 March in Sandton.

ICYMI The digital online radio station was launched on 29 August 2016, as the collaborative brainchild of media personalities TBO Touch, aka 'Mr HD Radio', together with Gareth Cliff.

The aim of the station is "to disrupt radio as we know it", through innovation and by being uncensored, uncut and unpredictable. The station introduced listeners to a host of undiscovered broadcast talent from across South Africa.

On Thursday, the re-vamped station releases its new name TOUCH HD which is set to continue being a pioneer in the African digital online radio space with a stronger focus on being the go-to source for fresh content in the urban African and cosmopolitan youth market. This is by delivering the highest quality of music, current affairs, lifestyle and entertainment news from the continent.

The re-imagined line-up will also include some of the best talent that the continent has to offer, emphasising once again that this is not JUST radio, it's a digital lifestyle.

The station will continue being available through mobile (phone), online streaming, podcasting and digital audio broadcasting, with additional platforms planned at a later stage to make digital radio more accessible.

What's new on the TOUCH HD app?

The new TOUCH HD app will be far more interactive than the current one. Listeners will now be able to actively engage with each other on a range of topics being discussed during live programming, through a new in-app live chat service feature. Podcasts can now be downloaded directly from the app onto the user's mobile device. The newly introduced lifestyle and events section will provide listeners with the latest information about upcoming events and lifestyle-related news from the various shows.

"Digital radio lends itself the opportunity of being disruptive through innovation," says Tbo Touch, Founder of Touch HD. "The new station is being true to its roots, vision and mission of innovation and disruption through the changes being introduced. We are excited about the new Touch HD app and the new streaming options which promise to elevate audiences interaction experience" concluded Tbo Touch.
