Team Anga and Bongs win Tropika Island of Treasure

Cape Town - Singer Anga NaakMusiQ and his partner Bongs have been announced as the winners of the sizzling seventh season of Tropika Island of Treasure.

The pair became one million rand richer after 12 weeks of grit, fierce competition amongst larger-than-life personalities and an outpouring of support from millions of viewers every week.

After eleven episodes of physical and mental exertion, exhaustion and eliminations, the season finale was anyone's game. Winning the competition required teams to use everything they had learned throughout the season - including making the most out of their bounty advantages - and remaining both physically and mentally strong -- all traits that Anga NaakMusiQ and Bongs consistently displayed throughout the season.

"The experience was insane for both Bongs and I! It was intense, exciting, exhausting and fun all at the same time," laughs Anga NaakMusiq.

"I still can't believe we won R1 million - it's a dream come true! I definitely had the best celebrity partner and the whole Tropika experience is one I will never forget," adds Bongs

Set on the picturesque white sands and turquoise waters of the Seychelles, TIOT returned to our screens with a refreshing new look, an incredible new host (Minnie Dlamini) and Games Master (Jonathan Boynton-Lee) and a purpose.

In line with their long-standing support for the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (CHOC), Tropika collaborated with celebrity contestants and consumers to raise funds for the foundation.

Through initiatives such as the CHOC telethon on Expresso Morning Show, as well as a musical collaboration between rapper Emtee and singers Anga NaakMusiQ and Karlien van Jaarsveld, Tropika raised a significant amount of money during this season of TIOT7.

Clover's commitment to supporting CHOC over the years has also included building homes/facilities for the little patients and their families, and they continue to care and invest in this critical program.

This is what you call successful branded entertainment, until season 8!
