Cape Town – If you missed out on the opportunity to see the South African production of Shakespeare in Love on stage, you’re in luck.
Back by popular demand the award-winning production returns to the Fugard Theatre in the Mother City.
The show, written by Lee Hall and adapted from the Academy Award-winning (1999) screenplay by Tom Stoppard and Marc Norman, was a runaway success last year and is back with a bang.
Stepping into the role of Will Shakespeare is Daniel Mpilo Richards, who has been dazzling audiences as Bernardo the leader of the Sharks in the Fugard Theatre’s West Side Story.
The show is an energetic mix between drama and comedy with a magnificent cast that include the Fleur du Cap winning actress Robyn Scott as Elizabeth I, Roxane Hayward as Viola de Lesseps, Cape Talk’s John Maytham as Fennyman, and Armand Aucamp as Kit Marlowe.
