Cape Town - It’s no secret: The Springboks are South Africa’s favourite team right now, especially after bringing that Rugby World Cup trophy home.
It’s safe to say scrum-half Faf de Klerk has taken the title of the resident comedian in the team, and won the hearts of many.
In what started as one of his funny stunts, Faf has managed to raise awareness and encourage men across the country to get tested for testicular cancer.
His legendary pose, where he’s dressed in nothing but South African flag-print undies, quickly turned into an internet challenge: the #Fafchallenge.
“Challenging Siya, Jesse, and ALL OF YOU to get into your speedo & post a pic to help spread the word on this important cause!! #FafChallenge #ballskills #StrongerTogether #CancerAwareness.
Be ballsy enough to check your balls! Testicular cancer is curable if caught and treated early enough! Check out www.fafchallenge.com for some important tip & tricks on how to up your ball skills!! [sic]” he posted on Instagram.
Bok captain Siya Kolisi, Jesse Kriel and Makazole Mapimpi decided to take up the challenge to spread the word and promote early detection of the disease.
Tweeps loved the challenge, for more reasons than one.
