These celebs are behind #FeesMustFall

Cape Town - Many local celebs are rallying behind students and showing their support for #FeesMustFall.

Classes were suspended at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) on Wednesday, as protesting students continued their shutdown of various campuses.

According to News24, UWC students submitted a detailed memorandum of demands last week. Top of the list was a demand for free, quality, black-centred education, and no talks of feasibility or increments.

Here are some of those celebs showing their support through social media:

1. DJ Black Coffee

It's really hard to sit and watch how the students are being assaulted by the Police,We should all get involved...it is now everyone fight.

2. Samkelo Ndlovu

The Presidential Commission on free education has since then extended their deadline on reporting back to the students on a way forward, students want to return to class but they won't if they aren't listened to. Freezing Fees does not solve the problem of ACCESS!! Because at R120k p/yr - WHO can afford that??? Many institutions are still shut down and the president called an imbizo two days ago and said what he said and LEFT!! Didn't engage with the student or parents!! Then Habib gave Police and Private security allowance to act with vigor to peacefully congregated and seated students!! WHY?? Is this 1976 again??? Students were even arrested yesterday. Please SA - we need your help. I am not a student but I once was and so will my children one day. Let's all speak out on this ongoing injustice and help the students go back to class and finish the academic year and most off, let the fees fall!! Mawawe lama fees!!! #FeesMustFall ##Fees2017
