This is how Minki van der Westhuizen's newborn got her name

Cape Town - Local TV personality Minki van der Westhuizen and her husband Ernst Joubert spoke to Huisgenoot about the special meaning behind the names of their three daughters.

Minki and her husband announced their pregnancy in September 2017 and welcomed their bundle of joy, named Elsa, in March 2018.

Speaking to Huisgenoot the former Boer Soek 'n Vrou host said that just like her older sisters Katerien (4) and Elise (3) are named after their grandmothers, the latest addition to their family was named after her grandmother, Elsa van der Westhuizen.

She explains that her grandmother had three sons, and has never had someone named after her.

Elsa (86) has met her namesake and Minki called the moment "precious" and "special."

Minki - who dressed up her baby bump in a number of stunning looks during her pregnancy - looks absolutely raditant as she posed for several photos with her family in the latest issue of Huisgenoot
