Johannesburg – Attention dancers! Local rap queen Gigi Lamayne is on the lookout for some backup.
The star, who is already working with the Supreme I Crew dancers, is looking to add a few newbies to her team. Speaking The Juice, Supreme I Crew dance member, Thandeka Ntamane, told us exactly what it takes to join team Gigi.
"We are looking for young female and gay dancers. Reason being, Gigi is doing the whole thing where she is really trying to embrace her feminism and women empowerment," Thandeka tells us, adding that dancers should be 20 years or older.
It's no one-time gig either. Should you make the cut, you will get the chance to tour with the rapper. "They will be working with her as part of Gigi Lamayne's team. Basically wherever she goes [and] where she performs. We're going to introduce the new dancers at Back To The City."
So what makes the perfect #TeamGigi dancer? Thandeka says it's someone with loads of personality. "My advice would be they [dancers] must bring their A-game. And they must not do this for the fame, they must do it for the passion," she says.
If you think you've got what it takes, you will have to prove yourself to DJ Lady Blue (Gigi's DJ) and Theodora (Gigi's assistant), as they will be judging auditions. Thandeka will help to choreograph the dance routine for those taking part.
Auditions will be held on 20 April from 13:00 to 16:00. Good luck!
