TicketPro issues full refund for rip-off Disneyland in Polokwane

Cape Town - TicketPro has issued a full refund to customers who purchased tickets for the disappointing "Winter in Disneyland Polokwane" event, which took place on Saturday.

Event-goers were frustrated when instead of a magical Disney wonderland, they experienced a lack of decorations, unfortunate costumes and inappropriate music.

Disappointed children were not fooled by the knock-off Mickey Mouse, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh.

Speaking to Channel24 on Tuesday, TicketPro confirmed that the electronic ticketing provider would issue a full refund to ticket holders.

"Ticketpro is not responsible for the delivery and activities of the event. The promoter of an event provides all images, information and promotional material," said Head of Ticketpro Jean-Claude de Beer.

"Ticketpro shares the disappointment of customers and as a token of our good-faith will refund each ticket holder," he added, saying that ticket holders had been contacted via SMS and email on how to receive their refund.

Ticket holders may also email info@ticketpro.co.za to request a full refund of their ticket purchase.

Following the public backlash, Disney Africa distanced itself from the debacle, informing Channel24: "Disney Africa confirms that this event was neither run or sanctioned by The Walt Disney Company Africa."

Flying Fish, which was advertised as a sponsor on marketing material, also set the record straight, tweeting "Flying Fish is not a sponsor of the event."
