Twitter pays tribute to Ray Phiri

Johannesburg – Many fans took to social media on Wednesday to remember South African jazz musician Ray Phiri. 

News of the legendary star’s death came on Wednesday morning. Ray, who was 70-years-old, suffered from lung cancer and had recently been admitted to a hospital in Nelspruit. 

Sharing his memories of the late muso, one Twitter user wrote: “He taught us not to retreat or through his song ‘Singajindi majita’.” 

"A music giant has fallen," another added.
