WATCH: Brenda Fassie encouraged son to study law to help 'look after mommy's affairs'

Johannesburg – At one stage, every parent believes that their kid will grow up to be either a doctor or a lawyer, and it turns out it was no different for Brenda Fassie.

A video of the iconic singer has resurfaced in which she can be seen chatting to her son Bongani, who was just a little boy at the time.

In the clip, Brenda talks about her wishes for Bongani's future, encouraging him to consider law as a possible career. "So that you can look after mommy's affairs," she explains to him, adding: "So that these people must stop cheating mommy."

The star goes on to tell her son that if he were to become a lawyer, he could help handle her money.

Further on in the video, we discover Bongani's true passion when he confesses that he actually wants to become a singer – a dream which he ended up pursuing in later years.
