WATCH: Cassper Nyovest's Tito Mboweni makes international news

Johannesburg – If you thought Cassper Nyovest’s Tito Mboweni was a hit when it was first released in 2017, you should see the hype it’s creating now.  

The rapper’s song was on everyone’s lips on Tuesday when news broke that former Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni would take over from Nhlanhla Nene as the new Minister of Finance.  

The Twitter streets were filled with hundreds of people quoting the song, and of course throwing around the popular line, “Sha sha”.  

But it’s not only South African’s who are taking in the brilliant timing of Cassper’s song and Tito Mboweni’s new position, US news agency CNN noted it too.  

Sharing a clip from CNN, which discussed the new Finance Minister and featured his song, Cassper wrote: “Mama we made it on CNN!!!”

Casper's track was a massive hit among local fans when it was released in early 2017. The video for the song now has well over 3 million views at the time of publishing.
