WATCH: Somizi invites President Cyril Ramaphosa to his nuptials and reveals wedding date

Cape Town - Local TV personality Somizi Mhlongo and his fiancé Mohale Motaung met President Cyril Ramaphosa and extended him an invitation to their wedding. 

The couple were among`the guests of those honoured by the South African government at the National Orders on Thursday. 

Somizi's mother, Mary Twala received a National Order of Ikhamanga in silver from the president for work in the arts.

Sharing a video from the encounter on Instagram, Mohale wrote: "I met president Cyril Ramaphosa for the first time today, (My knees were shaking)."

"I used to only ever dream of such occurrences and for it to happen today was an amazing experience and a dream come true. And yes, the president likes my bow tie."

While the pair posed for a photo with the president, and Somizi's mother,  the Dominoes author asked the president if he would attend their wedding.

To which the president excitedly exclaimed: "I'd love to come."

In the clip, we also learned that the wedding would be taking place in December.

When questioned further about the date of their in the comment section, Mohale confirmed that they would have two wedding ceremonies.
