Johannesburg - The Fergusons have been an inspiration in the entertainment industry for more than two decades and now Somizi Mhlongo has paid tribute to the couple as they continue to achieve success.
From creating a media empire that has churned out TV shows like The Queen and The Throne, to being couple goals as they celebrate 17 years of marriage – Shona and Connie Ferguson have done it all while being so in love.
As part of his Tuesday motivation 45-year-old Somizi posted a video in celebration of the pair.
In the vid the Idols SA judge admits the couple inspire him in many ways, including “couplelically, businesswise and because they have great hearts”.
The choreographer and reality star then shares how he’s known them for years and has seen them go from “nowhere to now soaring”.
In a passionate speech Somizi applauded the power pair for being an inspiration to not just their fans but to their fellow industry peers as well.
“Connie and Shona Ferguson, you guys inspire me so much. It’s amazing that you inspire a whole lot of people but even more amazing, you inspire the already inspired because I’m really inspired. I wake up in the morning and I inspire myself but I look at people like you and I go ‘yes’, ‘yes’, it’s limitless.”
With a career that has seen them star on shows like Generations, Rockville and The Queen together, Somizi applauded Shona and Connie for always breaking new frontiers.
“You’ve worked hard. We’ve watched you as you’ve broken the mould. You have done things that we never thought would be done. And I grew up in television where it was run by a certain group of people and you guys came in. We are behind you. We support you. I love you.”
