Cape Town - After teasing fans for several days about finally hitting the small screen with her own reality show, sensational entertainer Zodwa Wabantu has finally released the official trailer of her anticipated reality show – Zodwa Wabantu Uncensored.

Speaking to DRUM in an interview, Zodwa explained that the reality show would portray her daily life which consists of her boyfriend Ntobeko Linda, her son Vuyo and her new surgery journey.

"I am so happy to finally have my own reality show because I get to live my truth unlike when I am on stage or posting on Instagram," said Zodwa.

"People who’ve always wondered what it’s like to be Zodwa will now see how nothing is scripted. We are not acting like everything is perfect we are just living our lives. The viewers will judge…"

When asked what viewers can look forward to in the 13 episode reality show, the dancer said, "Everything!"

"Where I come from, why I left home when I was 16, the sisters that I grew up with and my grandmother’s house. How my boyfriend and son relate to each other as well as how my son feels about the kind of work that I do."

The 33-year-old Soweto-born star further elaborated on how unscripted the entire show is, saying: "It’s real…there’s no champagne, no make-up – it’s my truth about my present and past. How I survived when I was 16, I get candid about how I slept with men to get money back in the day."

Zodwa also stated that the purpose of her show was to depict the disparaging realities that black people living in townships face.

"I am not selling how I’ve made it now, or bragging about what I have or the things that I can acquire. I talk about real issues such as HIV and AIDS and how this has affected some of my friends," she said.

"I’ve touched on things that people are scared to talk about like death or me buying a coffin and the meaning behind it."

The show will air on 2 April on MojaLove (Dstv 157)
