Cape Town - We chat to DJ Euphonik and The Muffinz about what you can expect at The Music Run in Johannesburg on Saturday, 4 February.
Listen up, how cool is this? You get to control and decide on the soundtrack for the run by voting for your favourite songs in the build-up to the event. And on race day, runners experience the world's loudest 5km running course, known as 'The Sound Track'.
More than 120 speakers pump out the most popular songs across five interactive and music themed zones: Pop, rock, old school, hip hop and dance.
DJ Euphonik and The Muffinz will take part in the ultimate after-run music festival - which includes world class DJs, live bands, dancers, laser lights, LED screens and fire works!
Here's what they had to say:
Will you be taking part in any of the runs?
The Muffinz: Karabo might probably try himself out!
Euphonik: Unfortunately not.
What songs are currently on your workout playlist?
The Muffinz:
Sia - Chandelier
Richard Mona - Mbemba Mama
The Muffinz - Beautiful
The Muffinz - Do What You Love
Bob Marley - Buffalo Soldier
How does music influence your workout?
The Muffinz: If you really like groove and rhythm, then setting your workout tempo to your music creates flow to your workout.
Euphonik: I listen to a wide variety of music so really depends on the day and my mood, but it varies from Soul Music to Hip Hop and EDM.
What can fans look forward to at the music run?
The Muffinz: They can look forward to listening to a fresh take on South African youthful music.
Euphonik: Iv'e been asked to put together a 30 minute power mix, so I'm going to jam pack that time with my favourite uplifting tunes.
Any other big events for 2017?
The Muffinz: People can look out for our third album. We are definitely bringing out new music this year.
Euphonik: I will be performing at both legs of Ultra South Africa in Cape Town and Jo'burg, as well the Corona Sunset Festival and Spring Fiesta.
