We had a quick chat with local muso Chad Saaiman

Johannesburg – He’s been in the music industry for over ten years with no signs of slowing down.

Not only is Chad Saaiman a successful singer, he is also an amazing songwriter, and the owner Stereotype Talent Management.

The Juice had a chat with this talented star to find out what inspired his new track as well as his plans for the future.

What inspired you to write Belief?

I was inspired by a woman who, 10 years ago, told me that I'd never be able to have a career making my own music in Cape Town.

What’s you’re most memorable performance of your career so far?

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival was most certainly a highlight for me.

Your favourite song you’ve written for someone else?

Loyiso Bala ft Khuli Chana - World Of Mine. (Co-written)

Give us a taste of the first song you ever wrote (the lyrics).

It was an extremely sad song called Angels Cry and I have absolutely no idea what the lyrics are! I've probably written over 500 songs.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

To always research and always keep learning about your craft.

You’ve been in this industry for over a decade, how would you say it has changed over the years?

There's a lot more information and content out there right now compared to before, as the internet has made it readily available. So now we need to keep everything we do more impactful as it's momentary for the most part. It's also a lot easier for artists and producers to make music now, and have it heard by the masses.

What are some changes you would still like to see?

I'd still like to see even more collaboration than we have already.

What do you want to achieve in the next decade?

I want to have a few successful brands in different spheres of the creative spectrum, and also have my company Stereotype Talent Management go global by then.

What’s next for you?

I release my EP in September, and bring back my singer/songwriter event I used to run called The Chad Session.
